My #1 Pet Peeve-Bad Service

I live in a small town about 24,000 people; lived here almost my whole life and I know just like everyone else that whenever there is a new store or restaurant to open the first week is always hectic. I remember when they opened a Taco Bell the line of traffic wrapped around the main street and down the corner of the next block. It was as if no one in town had ever had the opportunity to partake of their crappy tacos. Today for lunch I decided to try the new Quizno’s, it had been open for a few days so I figured the crowds may have dwindled but I was wrong. Not only was there a big lunch rush, but the tables were so close together seating was almost impossible. Of course it was loud and people were starting to annoy me and the workers had no idea what they were doing and the only sandwich I wanted was the one they could not make. But, I dealt with it and I ordered something else the girl made the sandwich without asking what I wanted on it and very quickly moved on to the next person. Once I got through the line sat down with my family I took one bite and realized there was mayo all over it and not just on one side either. I hate mayo it makes me gag, so I decided maybe I’ll just eat my soup and the soup was horrible too, it tasted like maybe they were suppose to add water to it and forgot, so very politely I explained to the manager why I did not enjoy my lunch and asked for a refund. He was very rude and told the cashier “Just give her the money I can’t hold up this line for her!” They had me standing there waiting for 15 minutes, when one worker asked if they had taken care of me I explained that they were going to give me my refund but just left me waiting – he said he was very sorry and I said its ok the longer I wait the bigger the complaint – we both laughed and finally I got my money back along with a side order of sneer from the cashier. It’s too bad, I always enjoyed the Quizno’s in Corpus, I guess that’s where I’ll go next time.

Anyway, that is why I'm sitting here eating Subway.

Mmm! I love Quiznos. The Traditional is my favorite. Too bad the one in your area hasn't got their act together yet. And Good For You for getting a refund. I probably would have just dumped my basket and walked out hungry. I'm a non-confrontational kinda gal. Course, I get a bit grumpy when I'm hungry so maybe I'd've raised a ruckus.

I use to never ask for a refund or complain, but now that I have learned the value of a dollar I try to make the most of mine - why should I throw it away.

The quiznos here is terrible as well, both of the Subways in town blow it away.

I never go to places that haven't been open a long time.  The workers are usually rude because they are stressed from trying to learn while serving too many customers.

Oh for an Inn N' Out DDouble Double...... MMMM Good.
It was the one thing that made it worth going to the LA area for. Now they are all over
SOCAL and even Nevada. When the first one opened in Lemon Grove (San Diego Area)
the drive thru wait was over 1 1/2 hours for over three days. They had to close the off ramp on
the interstate!. But OMG the best fast food ever!. Quiznos is usually good but i would wait a
few weeks for them to get rid of the lame and lazy employees.

Including the manager who obviously needs a refresher in customer service. Even after many years working in customer service, it never ceases to amaze me how many people are lacking in this essential skill.
